Touchscreens are already becoming very popular in today's world, and has already seen use in numerous products such as apple's I phone, the Nintendo DS, and even smartboards. Contrary to the fact that it seems to be emerging only recently on the market they have actually been in existence since the 1980s. They were however, until recently, used primarilty for educational purposes, their current use in game and entertainment systems began only recently when miniaturization of the design was possible.
I personally would like to see more use of touchscreens in more commercial products especially laptops, stationary computers, television sets, and game consoles. This could even enable the keyboard and monitor to be combined into a single component, though this would be difficult to do without obscuring part of the screens.

Great start to your blog..and good topic...technology is all around us...touch screens are the thing..what do you think will be next.
ReplyDeleteI think that the next thing could be a form of touch screen that just uses a projection instead of the screen itself.
